Snail's Pace is a really cool collection of Eric's more laid back tracks from his previous three albums.  But it's not just a compilation CD...  There are four completely new tracks, including "Scat Cat", "Nightlight" and Eric's powerful original rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star".  He has also remixed several of the previously released songs and recorded a new version of his hit, "The Elephant Song", featuring his girls, Becca and Evee. Snail's Pace also includes a bonus track; the funny original version of "Rest Easy Now" called "The Cruelest Lullaby".
Snail's Pace press release:

Eric Herman has become known in the kids' music world primarily for his ingeniously funny songs like "Cowboy Bergaleoukaleopaleous", "There's a Monster in My House" and "Blackbeard, Bluebeard and Redbeard" (winner of the 2006 Just Plain Folks award for Best Children's Song), and for his high-energy, comedy-filled live shows.  But Eric has always had a softer side as well.  Each of his first three CDs include some tracks that are more laid back; sweet and poignant songs that make kids smile while they're winding down from the more upbeat stuff, and songs that invariably make mothers everywhere go "awww".
Eric has collected all of his "awww" songs together for Snail's Pace, the coolest "quiet-time" CD ever.  In addition to previously released standouts like "Hide and Go Seek with the Moon", Snail's Pace has several new tracks including the jazzy "Scat Cat" (with amazing scat vocals by Sam Payne); the powerful spiritual metaphor of "Nightlight"; a transcendent rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (with original lyrics); and a brand new version of Eric's "The Elephant Song", which has become a huge hit among all kids' music videos on YouTube, and which features Eric's girls, Becca and Evee.  (Becca also designed the cover for Snail's Pace when she was only 3.)
Influences like The Beatles, Kate Bush and Paul Simon may be deep under the surface, but Eric Herman's music has a voice and style that is truly his own, and Snail's Pace is an outstanding collection of melodic and relaxing songs that really shows off Eric's unique "awww" side.
The Snail's Pace tracks include "The Elephant Song" (new version, featuring Becca and Evee), "Scat Cat" (featuring Sam Payne), "I Dreamed that I Could Fly", "Nightlight", "This Little Light of Mine" (featuring Jen Marco Handy), "Hide and Go Seek with the Moon", "Don't Bother Any Butterflies", "The Hero of Your Dreams", "The Tale of the Sun and the Moon", "For the Beauty of the Earth", "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (with new lyrics) and "Rest Easy Now".  A bonus track, an amusingly scary version of "Rest Easy Now" called "The Cruelest Lullaby", is available as a download, with instructions included in the CD liner.
Snail's Pace is available at CDBaby.com, Amazon.com and through www.EricHermanMusic.com  A ZIP download of just the five new tracks, plus the bonus track, is also available for a special low price at Eric's website.

Snail's Pace reviews/comments:

"Snail's Pace gets a huge recommendation from my family. A lovely new collection of mellow pop music that is just perfect for getting your kids to wind down at the end of the day.  Eric's new rendition of his classic "The Elephant Song" out-cutes the original. The new song that really stands out is "Scat Cat," a jazzy, finger-snapping tune about a prowling feline. My kids like just about any song about cats, but this one definitely delivers something out of the ordinary."
-Phil Corless, A Family Runs Through It

"These 12 richly crafted, fellow-mellow tunes are just about perfect for wind down and sleepytime or anytime you have a hankering for good music."
-John Wood, Kidzmusic.com

"Families looking for some relatively low-key music will find this a treat. Herman's vocals are earnest and his lyrics thoughtful."
-Jeremiah McNichols, Z Recommends

"Eric Herman has vaulted to the front ranks of children's performers with his fresh and forthright sound. This time out he slows things down, balancing his heretofore raucous catalog with soothing sounds. "The Elephant Song" is an instant preschool classic."
-Tom Peterson, Victory Music
